TechMoose exists because building a voice AI receptionist by hand nearly broke us. This is the story of why we made it so you never have to.
About a year ago in Sydney, our founder built voice AI agents by hand for two small businesses. Real agents, answering real phones, for real customers. It worked, and the businesses loved it.
There was just one problem. Each one took nearly a month to build.
Every business needed different questions, different workflows, different booking rules. Weeks disappeared into connecting systems, testing calls at odd hours, fixing awkward pauses, and coaxing the AI to sound like a warm receptionist instead of a robot reading a script. By the end, one question would not go away:
If every customer takes weeks of engineering, how does any normal business ever get this?
The technology was clearly ready. The process was clearly broken. The businesses that needed a phone answered the most, the tradies, the clinics, the salons, were exactly the ones who could never afford a month of custom development.
So we flipped the problem. Instead of building agents for businesses one by one, we built the platform that builds them. You describe your business in a sentence, plain English, no code, and TechMoose generates your agent: phone number, natural voice, lead capture, email summaries, calendar booking, the lot. Everything that once took a month of hand-wiring now happens in minutes.
Since then the platform has been rebuilt and simplified again and again, shaped by feedback from the real business owners using it. Every awkward step we watched someone stumble on got redesigned. That loop is still running today.
TechMoose is now in beta, live on real Australian phone numbers, and ready for more businesses to try. It is still early, and we are honest about that. If something feels rough around the edges, telling us is the most valuable thing you can do. It is exactly how this product got to where it is.
